Umetrics License Servers and supported Umetrics Suite Products
A on-premises Umetrics Suite License Server is used to provide licenses to SIMCA and MODDE inside an organization, thereby allowing centrally managed licenses. License usage is tracked by the license server, but usage is not limited. Individual PCs need no manual activation. The administrator of a license server is obliged to report the yearly usage to Sartorius.
A License Server is optional. Discuss with your sales representative to include it in your agreement.

Recommended usages
A license server can be useful in two situations:
- for large companies where the number of users can grow and change over the contract period and where manual de-activation may be forgotten resulting in licenses running out
- when individual PCs cannot connect to the cloud licensing system because of local network restrictions, including when a HTTP proxy is required
Two different license servers depending on MODDE- and SIMCA-version
We offer two different license servers that are used with different versions of MODDE and SIMCA:
- The Umetrics License Server version 2022 or later, for the FlexNet licensing system, which works with the latest versions of our software; MODDE 13.0.1 and later versions and SIMCA 17.0.1 and later versions.
- The older Umetrics License Server, version 4.9.x, for the LMX licensing system, which works with MODDE 11 - 13.0.0 and SIMCA 15 - 17.0.0.
Note: SIMCA-online, SIMCA-Q, MODDE-Q do not support license servers.
