SIMCA®-online 13.2 (Q796)
Summary:
This release includes key features which continue to strengthen the capabilities of SIMCA®-online. Features include remote access to process status information via visualization capability on portable devices such as tablets, smart phones and web browsers complementing the SIMCA®-online Clients capability. Also new in version 13.2 is a new data retrieval mode specifically designed for IPC (In-Process Control)/ Discrete data – the ability to capture low frequency data at varying sampling times during batch evolution. In addition, interfaces for SIMCA®-online have been certified for compliance by the OPC Foundation as the first and only multivariate software on the market, another step in making SIMCA®-online the single point multivariate software solution for process monitoring, prediction and control.
SIMCA®-online 13.2 allows simultaneous use of all of the following data types in one single solution for process monitoring, PAT, QbD and CPV (Continuous Process Verification) applications:
- Process data - continuous high frequency data e.g. once per second or once per minute. SIMCA®-online connects to one or many sources such as OSIsoft® PI System®.
- Actuating variables – data from control system such as DCS, PLC, PID or similar, contains information of how a process is adjusted by its controllers.
- Analyzer data - from e.g. NIR or Raman. SIMCA®-online connects to e.g. Bruker OPUS, SynTQ or SIPAT.
- Discrete data/IPC (In Process Control) data - low frequency data at varying sampling times during batch evolution.
- Batch data - where the system batch information such as start/stop is read from e.g. OSIsoft PI.Batch™.
- Batch condition data - static data e.g. raw material information, measurements on completed batches, intermediate results and recipe e.g. MES data for example from Werum PasX.

System requirements
- Any x64 or x86 computer hardware supported by the Windows versions listed below.
- Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2012 R2.
- 200 MB available hard disk space for a full installation.
- SIMCA® projects built with SIMCA® 13.0.3.

Numerical Validation
SIMCA®-online 13.2 has been numerically validated against SIMCA® 13.0.3. The validation report is available at http://umetrics.com/downloads/simca-online.
Technical details
SIMCA®-online 13.2 is a separate program and installation from the previous versions.
It can be installed in parallel with SIMCA®-online 13.1 or earlier on the same server computer. Different database directories and settings are used by default. Note that Umetrics does not recommend you run more than one Umetrics server per server computer, see the Technical Guide (2.1.1) for more information.
SIMCA®-online 13.2 is backwards compatible with the SIMCA®-online 13.1 database format (but no other versions). This means that a copy of the 13.1 database can be used if you want to migrate a 13.1 server to 13.2 to keep old data. Refer to KB article Q801 for more information.
Third party software
SIMCA®-online is bundled with ExamDiff, a freeware tool for visual comparison of configuration changes in the SIMCA®-online audit trail for 21 CFR Part 11 (Electronic Records) compliance. For even more features, check out ExamDiff Pro.
