SIMCA®-online 17.0.2
SIMCA-online 17.0.2 is a maintenance release for SIMCA-online 17.0.
Fixed issues:
- Fix (server): Server crash when Batch Context Generator generator-type node is used (42129)
- Fix (server): Can't read discrete data for aggregation node with Batch ID match pattern (42871)
- Fix: (server): Aggregation node missing start of batch (43521)
- Fix (client): Production overview stops working when configuration name or active batch ID contains either of the characters & ' < (41812)
- Fix (client): Tag list empty after scrolling tags and switching to node with fewer tags (42977)
- 17.0.2 also includes all fixes from 17.0.1 described in SIMCA®-online 17.0.1 (sartorius.com)
Version compatibility
- 17.0.2 works with the same license as SIMCA®-online 17.
- SIMCA-online 17.0.1 clients can be used to connect to a 17.0.2 server. However to benefit from the Production overview fix listed above, clients need to be updated.
- The SIMCA®-online database of this build is fully compatible with 17.0 and 17.0.1
- 17.0.2 replaces a previous 17.0.x installation, and cannot be installed in parallel on the same computer.
- System requirements and other information in SIMCA®-online 17 apply to 17.0.2.

How to install 17.0.2 on a computer without SIMCA®-online
Follow the instructions in the Readme and Installation Guide.pdf included in the zip file and run the setup program.
How to upgrade an existing SIMCA®-online 17.0.1 installation
Before upgrading, take a note of the service account you use for the service. After the upgrade to 17.0.2, you need to reconfigure the service account again in Windows services.
Follow the instructions in the Readme and Installation Guide.pdf included in the zip file and run the 17.0.2 setup program. The previous 17.0.1 installation will be replaced in the original folder it was installed**. Data and settings are preserved.
How to upgrade an existing SIMCA®-online 17.0.0 installation
Before upgrading, take a note of the service account you use for the service. After the upgrade to 17.0.2, you need to reconfigure the service account again in Windows services.
If you run SIMCA-online 17.0.0 and if you have licensed SIMCA-online 17.0, you need to perform these steps to preserve the license Activation ID of your previous installation:*
- Start a command prompt, and on it run the command:
reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Umetrics\SIMCA-online Server\17.0\Install" ActivationIDBackup.reg - Follow the instructions in the Readme and Installation Guide.pdf included in the zip file and run the 17.0.2 setup program. The previous 17.0 installation will be replaced in the original folder it was installed**. Data and settings are preserved (except the Activation ID).
- Double-click on the ActivationIDBackup file you created in step 1, and answer Yes to import the settings to the registry.
If you didn't follow the above steps but know the Activation ID you can also restore it after the upgrade using this command (replace 1111-11......1111 with your ID):
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Umetrics\SIMCA-online Server\17.0\Install" /t REG_SZ /v "Activation Key" /d 1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111
*) This works around an issue in the 17.0 installation program that otherwise removes the Activation ID during the upgrade which would result in SIMCA-online Server Options incorrectly saying "Local license file used" and that the previous license cannot be returned.
**) The setup program prompts for an install location but regardless what folder you provide, it will still use the original folder where 17.0 was installed.
