SIMCA^®-online 17.0.1

SIMCA-online 17.0.1 is a maintenance release for SIMCA-online 17.0.

Fixed issues:

• Fix: Production Overview for concurrent batches: Incorrect alarm status color and alarm plots show additional batches (40018)
• Fix: Batch Context Generator with start trigger and batch identifier tag may result in incorrect batch start or end times (39435)
• Fix: Batch Context Generator results in incorrect batch times after manual Clear (39585)
• Fix: Batch Context Generator: settings dialog incorrectly shows generator-type settings when an aggregation-type node was created (39163)
• Fix: Property pane out of sync when switching between configurations on a slow client (39612)
• Fix: Pre-processing batch level variables incorrectly displayed in Phase tags configuration page and in other places. Note that to benefit from this fix, the project has to be re-uploaded to the SIMCA-online server (37875)
• Fix: No longer remove Activation ID from registry when uninstalling or upgrading (affects future versions, after 17.0.1) (40365)

Version compatibility

• 17.0.1 works with the same license as SIMCA®-online 17.
• Both SIMCA-online client and server need to be updated to 17.0.1 to benefit from the fixes listed above.
• The SIMCA®-online database of this build is fully compatible 17.0.
• System requirements and other information in SIMCA®-online 17 apply to 17.0.1.

How to install 17.0.1 on a computer without SIMCA®-online

Follow the instructions in the Readme and Installation Guide.pdf included in the zip file and run the setup program.

How to upgrade an existing SIMCA®-online 17.0 installation

Before upgrading, take a note of the service account you use for the service. After the upgrade to 17.0.1, you need to reconfigure the service account again in Windows services.

If you have licensed SIMCA-online 17.0, you need to follow the follows steps to preserve the license Activation ID of your previous installation:*.

1. Start a command prompt, and on it run the command:
   reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Umetrics\SIMCA-online Server\17.0\Install" ActivationIDBackup.reg
2. Follow the instructions in the Readme and Installation Guide.pdf included in the zip file and run the 17.0.1 setup program. The previous 17.0 installation will be replaced in the original folder it was installed**. Data and settings are preserved (except the Activation ID).
3. Double-click on the ActivationIDBackup file you created in step 1, and answer Yes to import the settings to the registry.

If you didn't follow the above steps but know the Activation ID you can also restore it after the upgrade using this command (replace 1111-11......1111 with your ID):

reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Umetrics\SIMCA-online Server\17.0\Install" /t REG_SZ /v "Activation Key"  /d 1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111

^{*) This works around an issue in the 17.0 installation program that otherwise removes the Activation ID during the upgrade which would result in SIMCA-online Server Options incorrectly saying "Local license file used" and that the previous license cannot be returned.}

^{**) The setup program prompts for an install location but regardless what folder you provide, it will still use the original folder where 17.0 was installed.}
