Centrisart® I* is a ready-to-use unit for small-volume (≤ 2.5 mL), centrifugal ultrafiltration designed to separate proteins from low molecular weight substances in biological samples. Centrisart® I features a unique design that enables ultrafiltration in the direction opposite to centrifugal force. This method is extremely effective in preventing premature blockage of the filter, so effective that even whole blood samples can be deproteinized.

The Vivacon® ultrafiltration filters are particularly suited for the concentration and desalting of DNA molecules but show an excellent performance for aqueous protein solutions too. For delicate and DNA sensitive tasks the Vivacon® 500 and Vivacon 2 PCR Grade units have been treated with ethylene oxide (ETO) in a validated process to remove traces of DNA and prevent interference with downstream applications.
