Basketball in Göttingen: Strong Together

Sartorius Supports Professional and Junior Teams

As well as being a centre of excellence for life sciences, Göttingen is also a top basketball city: The men's team of BG Göttingen was promoted to the first German Basketball Bundesliga in 2007. From the 2025/26 season, the team will play in the ProA. The women's and youth teams are well established locally and play basketball at a high level.

As a long-standing partner, Sartorius is helping to create the conditions for the next chapters in these success stories.

Passion for the Game

Sartorius has been the main sponsor of BG Göttingen since 2012 and is also a long-standing partner of the youth teams, known as the "Sartorius Juniors" (NBBL) and "Sartorius Youngsters" (JBBL), as well as the BG74 Veilchen Ladies.

In 2020, Sartorius took on the naming rights for the 2,660 square meter basketball training center, which is now known as the Sartorius Basketball Lab.

Even after the end of their professional careers, some former basketball players remain actively involved in the Sartorius company sports team.

BG Göttingen

The men's team of BG Göttingen will play in the second German Basketball Bundesliga as of the 2025/2026 season.

Medical Instinct Veilchen

As of the 2025/2026 season, the Göttingen Women will play in the second German Basketball Bundesliga.

Sartorius Juniors

The "Sartorius Juniors" play as one of BG's junior teams in the U19 Basketball Bundesliga (NBBL).

Sartorius Youngsters

The "Sartorius Youngsters" play as one of BG's junior teams in the U16 Basketball Bundesliga (JBBL).

Wetland in Göttingen

In an initiative launched by Sartorius, in cooperation with the Heinz Sielmann Foundation and city of Göttingen, a diverse wetland is being created
