Sartorius Quartier
Sustainable Development of the Former Factory Site
Sartorius has transformed its former factory site in Göttingen's northern district into a sustainably used neighborhood that offers an innovative environment focused on health under the guiding principle of “Education – Entrepreneurship – Living.” In close proximity to various universities, a lively location with historic and modern architecture has been created, comprising the Life Science Factory, a research center for life science start-ups, and a health campus run by the UMG and HAWK universities.
On the site, which encompasses an area of around 24,000 m², the company Ottobock established its Patient Care Center. The rehabilitation center Junge (Rehazentrum Junge) also settled into the district. The project development company HAMBURG TEAM built a hotel, smart apartments, a daycare center, and 170 rental apartments and 53 condominiums.
The historic Sheddachhalle in the Sartorius Quarter serves as an event venue and meeting place for various regional cultural institutions.
