Shanghai: A new Application & Service Hub for the Chinese Market
Sartorius is strengthening its footprint in China by opening a new Application & Service Hub, located in Zhangjiang Science City in Shanghai. The hub is designed as an integrated solution platform to empower and accelerate progress in areas ranging from research to process development to production in the Chinese life sciences and biopharmaceutical industries

The new Application & Service Hub covering over 3,000 m2 accommodates an Application Center, a Validation Services Laboratory and a Service Hub for the APAC region. The Application Center will showcase the latest innovations in bioanalytic, continuous processing and digitalization, while the Validation Services Laboratory will enable customers to overcome validation-related challenges. The APAC Service Hub ensures professional after-sales continuity for equipment repair, maintenance, and calibration service for the region.

Since starting production in its first Chinese facility in Beijing in 1996, Sartorius has been continuously investing to broaden its footprint and expanding its capacity in China to meet the growing needs of local customers. Sartorius currently employs more than 700 team members in China and is continuously expanding its local organization.

In January 2021, Sartorius had already successfully completed its relocation to larger premises in Shanghai. The move from the previous location marked an important milestone for Sartorius China and the Group. In April 2021, Sartorius further expanded its footprint in China by opening a new Customer Interaction Center (CIC) in Beijing to enable our Chinese customers to test, validate, and adjust the functionalities of their equipment.
The grand opening of the Application and Service Hub marks a further milestone in Sartorius’ development in China and underlines its long-term commitment to this fast-growing market.

Sartorius has been continuously investing in China to meet the growing needs of local customers. The newly opened Customer Interaction Center in Beijing has successfully completed its first large-scale customer project. Moreover, the Sartorius Laboratory and Service Center in YETDA Biopark in Yantai, China, is under construction. As of the first half of 2022, this facility will provide timely, on-site support to our customers and biotech startups in their drug discovery and early development phases.

Sartorius expects continuous strong growth for the current fiscal year and beyond. To support this growth, and to ensure delivery reliability also going forward, we have started to accelerate and extend the expansion of our production capacities very significantly in all geographies, the Americas, Europe, and Asia. By 2025, Sartorius will more than double capacities for key product groups.
Capacity Expansions: Demand for Sartorius Products is growing rapidly
