Uncompromised Weighing Accuracy Meets High Throughput
The AMC automatic mass comparators are designed to combine best weighing performance and high throughput calibration processes.
With up to 16 carousel positions the user is able to prepare comprehensive mass determination sequences while being in control of the process at the same time due to the integrated climate sensors.
The carousel allows for direct loading of up to four OIML and ASTM shape weights in each position enabling for comparison by substitution or dissemination.
Special center cross and circle markings on the carousel facilitates easy positioning of weights and automatic weight centering routine increases the center position accuracy.

Key features
Sartorius mass comparators with a load alternator perform fully automatic mass comparison of individual reference mass standards and groups of weights in any combination. As no additional cylindrical or stackable weights are required, loss of accuracy is prevented.
The AMC automatic mass comparators are equipped as standard with YCM20MC climate modules, which means that all climate parameters relevant for a mass comparison are available.
High throughput due to 16 or 8 carousel positions
Centermatic ensures that the Weight of a mass is always consistently and centrally applied to the built-in EMC cell of the mass comparator. As a result, the position-dependent measuring error of the mass comparator is substantially reduced and the repeatability of the measurements are significantly enhanced. Furthermore, the automatic weight centering routine can be used to correct off-center loading onto the individual grid position.
Centermatic and automatic weight centering routine are built-in for all Automatic with Load Alternator - Mass Comparators AMC
Applications for Automatic Mass Comparators
Mass Dissemination by Subdivision
Subdivision (dissemination of mass for class RS and E1 weights). Weight grabbers accommodate a group of up to four weights. Groups of weights are placed on the weighing pan simultaneously, guaranteeing fast loading of the mass comparator with reference and test weights.
Automated hands-free Calibration from 10 g to 20 kg
Combining AMC1006, AMC10005, and AMC20004 is possible to cover all OIML and ASTM weight classes (E1 to M3 | 000 to 7) for weights from 10 g to 20 kg, and for RS OIML Class from 50 g to 20 kg.
Artefacts and Non-Normalized Objects
Best solution for hands-free Mass Comparison and Determination for relatively large objects, disk weights, buoyancy artifacts and pressure disks.

Frequently Asked Questions
An AMC automatic mass comparator is a high precision weighing instrument designed specifically for the calibration, verification, and comparison of mass standards. It automates the handling and weighing sequence of reference and test weights to achieve very low measurement uncertainties and high throughput in mass calibration laboratories.
The comparator uses a carousel to move reference and test weights to the weighing pan position. By lifting the carousel up or down the weights are placed on or removed from the slotted weighing pan. The AMC instruments are following predefined measurement sequences and repeat them as often as desired. The software then calculates differences, corrections, and uncertainties according to metrological procedures.
For high resolution automatic mass comparators, a dedicated foundation or vibration damped table is strongly recommended to minimize mechanical disturbances that affect measurement repeatability. Sartorius offers granite weighing table YWT14 as accessory.
Yes. Once the measurement sequence is set, the comparator can perform automatic measurement cycles without continuous operator presence.
AMC comparators are designed for standardized mass standards (e.g., OIML, ASTM) within specific nominal ranges. Weights must meet the dimensional and surface requirements for the handling system. Consult the instrument manual or Sartorius weight compatibility table.
