Web API - predict function incorrectly does not require electronic signature (Q949)
Symptoms:
In SIMCA-online 14.0 through 16.0 the /predict function in the Web API incorrectly does not require a user name and password to sign the action of predicting a batch when Electronic Signature is required by the server. Since /predict overwrites any previous values, it should require an Electronic Signature in the same way the desktop client does in the same situation.
In SIMCA-online 16.1, /predict, does not work if Electronic Signatures are enabled on the server.
Workaround:
If you want to restrict who can do /predict, see below under More Information.
If you need to do /predict in the Web API in SIMCA-online 16.1 , you can disable Electronic Signatures on the server.
More information
The Web API is an optional feature of SIMCA-online. It has to be enabled on the server to be available.
Even though /predict incorrectly does not require an Electronic Signature, a user still has to log in to the server before doing /predict. Furthermore, the user has to have a special permission in SIMCA-online to be able to predict.
Internal Sartorius bug number: 30195.
Status:
This will be fixed in SIMCA-online 16.1.2 and later so that /predict requires a user name and password to sign the action when Electronic Signature is enabled, similar to how /alarms/reset already works in SIMCA-online 16.1
