Low adsorption meets high performance

Sartopore Evo® PES Membrane Filter for Form and Fill

The next generation in final filtration

Ensure stability and reduce product loss in form and fill with Sartopore Evo® sterilizing-grade filters. Featuring a modified PES membrane, Sartopore Evo® Filters minimize protein and excipient adsorption while maximizing performance.

Compared to PVDF, Sartopore Evo® Filters achieve higher flow rates and throughput, and use smaller filter elements to minimize waste. And unlike PVDF filters, Sartopore Evo® Filters are made without intentionally using PFAS, helping future-proof your supply chain.

Performance Deep Dive

Polysorbate Adsorption

As shown by our customer development partners, Sartopore Evo® PES membrane filters demonstrate lower polysorbate adsorption than PVDF membrane filters, and significantly lower adsorption than other PES membrane filters. As a result, Sartopore Evo® filters achieve rapid recovery of the initial polysorbate concentration in the filtered formulation, minimizing potential product loss in filling operations.

Flow Rates

Sartopore Evo® filters demonstrate comparable water flow rates to our well-established Sartopore® 2 XLG filters, and significantly higher rates than the PVDF filters often used for final filtration.

Filter Capacity (Throughput)

By combining an asymmetric 0.8 µm prefilter membrane with a 0.2 µm final filter layer, Sartopore Evo® filters achieve a high filtration capacity that is comparable to Sartopore® 2 XLG filters and significantly higher than PVDF membrane filters. We determined this using a high blocking model solution, and confirmed the results by evaluating with other fluids like 5.0% IVIG.

Providing Industry-Leading Filtration Solutions for Almost 100 Years

With almost a century of filtration expertise, Sartorius can trace its roots back to Richard Zsigmondy's pioneering research in membrane filtration. Since 1927, we have evolved to meet pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturers’ needs, adapting to technological and regulatory changes. Our innovative filter transfer set for final filling meets Annex 1 standards, and the second generation of Maxicaps® MR reduces the use of plastic for more sustainable single-use solutions. Sartopore Evo® filters exemplify and continue our commitment to meeting market demands by phasing out PFAS polymers like PVDF in form and fill processes.
