Ambr® Crossflow TFF System for Ultrafiltration & Diafiltration
A Small-Scale, Benchtop TFF System for Parallel Processing
Ambr® Crossflow provides early development teams with insights into molecule behavior under varying viscosity, buffer composition, and shear stress, as well as performance in TFF processes. This enables the inclusion of critical criteria during the design and development of TFF operations.
- Study a range of factors that impact manufacturability
- Conduct up to 16 automated, parallel trials
- Work with low process volumes (5 mL recirculation volumes)

Ambr® Crossflow can run 1-16 automated, parallel experiments to screen critical conditions such as membrane chemistry, buffer systems, and MWCO. When combined with design of experiments (DoE) approaches, it enables efficient investigation of multiple factors for process optimization. It also supports candidate selection by assessing molecule stability under a range of process conditions and provides a high-throughput solution for concentration and diafiltration sample preparation.
Because your product is both valuable and challenging to manufacture, minimizing material use is essential. With a 5 mL circulation volume, Ambr® Crossflow requires only a small starting quantity. Integrated instrumentation and automation provide accurate measurement of hold-up volume, ensuring maximum product recovery.
The modular format of Ambr® Crossflow means the number of experiments can be increased as needs change. The base module can perform up to four simultaneous experiments, and connecting four modules increases the system's capability to 16 simultaneous experiments.

A Small Scale, High Throughput Automated System
The High Throughput Solution for Parallel Screening
The system supports a minimum recirculation volume of 5 mL and offers a dedicated range of Ambr® CF Filter cassettes with a 10 cm² membrane area. The Ambr® Crossflow Adapter Kit SC50 accessory enables the use of small-scale flat sheet cassettes, such as Sartocon® Slice 50, as well as hollow fiber formats, including the Pioneer and Discover 12″ and 24″ modules. Parallel operation is enabled by four independent crossflow channels per module, with up to four modules managed by a single control station. In total, Ambr® Crossflow can perform up to 16 TFF trials simultaneously.
The intuitive hardware and software design facilitates straightforward setup and operation, while full system automation provides reliable process control and minimizes manual intervention.
