Dendritic cells (DCs) are professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs) that are able to sensitize T cells to antigens by ingesting structures such as components of microorganisms and presenting them via MHC class II. DCs play a central role in regulating innate and adaptive immunity through innate recognition of pathogens and activation of the adaptive immune response.   

Dendritic cell therapy represents a novel and promising immunotherapeutic approach for the treatment of various cancers. A DC-based cancer vaccine is based on the DC-specific ability of presenting antigens to CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells and thus activating the cell-mediated and humoral adaptive immune system against cancer cells.

GM-CSF

CellGenix® Recombinant Human GM‑CSF (rh GM‑CSF, also known as CSF2) is an animal component–free growth factor that supports differentiation of CD14⁺ monocytes into mature dendritic cells (DCs). Both preclinical and GMP grades are produced in a dedicated animal-free GMP facility.

GM‑CSF is a key hematopoietic growth factor and immune modulator produced by T cells, macrophages, NK cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, promoting neutrophil proliferation and maturation. In cell and gene therapy, it is used to drive DC differentiation and enhance DC and macrophage function, making it a critical factor for DC-based therapies.

CellGenix® rh IL-4 (Preclinical Grade)

IL-4

CellGenix® Recombinant Human IL‑4 (rh IL‑4) is an animal component–free cytokine that, together with GM‑CSF, drives differentiation of monocytes into dendritic cells (DCs). Both preclinical and GMP grades are produced in a dedicated animal-free GMP facility.

IL‑4 is a key regulator of humoral and adaptive immunity, promoting growth and differentiation of B cells, T cells, and monocytic cells. In cell and gene therapy, it is used with GM‑CSF for ex vivo generation of immature DCs from monocytes.

TNF-α

CellGenix® Recombinant Human TNF‑α (rh TNF‑α) is an animal component–free cytokine that reliably drives maturation of immature dendritic cells (DCs). Both preclinical and GMP grades are produced in a dedicated animal-free GMP facility.

TNF‑α is a proinflammatory cytokine central to inflammation, immune development, apoptosis, and lipid metabolism, mainly produced by monocytes and macrophages, but also T cells, NK cells, and neutrophils. In cell and gene therapy, it is used for ex vivo maturation of DCs.

IL-1β

CellGenix® Recombinant Human IL‑1β (rh IL‑1β) is an animal component–free cytokine that stimulates maturation of immature dendritic cells (DCs) and supports generation of megakaryocytes from pluripotent stem cells (PSCs). Both preclinical and GMP grades are produced in a dedicated animal-free GMP facility.

IL‑1β is a proinflammatory cytokine mainly produced by monocytes and activated macrophages. It drives inflammatory responses in T cells, NK cells, and B cells by inducing other proinflammatory cytokines and interferons and modulating DC cytokine secretion. In cell and gene therapy, CellGenix® IL‑1β is used for ex vivo maturation of DCs.

IL‑6 is a multifunctional cytokine with pro‑ and anti‑inflammatory roles, regulating acute phase responses, hematopoiesis, bone metabolism, cancer progression, and immunity. Produced mainly by T cells, monocytes, and macrophages, it is used in cell and gene therapy for ex vivo DC maturation and HSC expansion.

IFN-γ

CellGenix® Recombinant Human IFN‑γ (rh IFN‑γ) is an animal component–free cytokine that promotes maturation of monocyte‑derived dendritic cells (Mo‑DCs) and generation of cytokine‑induced killer (CIK) cells. The preclinical grade is produced in a dedicated animal-free GMP facility for safe use in ATMP manufacturing.

IFN‑γ, the sole type II interferon, is produced mainly by NK cells and T cells and is essential for innate and adaptive immunity against various infections. In cell and gene therapy, it is used for ex vivo Mo‑DC maturation, CIK cell generation, and stimulation of monocytes, macrophages, and microglia.

IL-10

CellGenix® Recombinant Human IL‑10 (rh IL‑10) is an animal component–free cytokine that promotes generation of anti‑inflammatory dendritic cells (DCs). The preclinical grade is produced in a dedicated animal-free GMP facility for safe use in ATMP manufacturing.

IL‑10 is a class‑2 anti‑inflammatory cytokine that down regulates regulates the expression of T helper 1 cytokines, MHC Class II antigens, and co-stimulatory molecules on macrophages. In cell and gene therapy, it is used to support the generation of anti‑inflammatory DCs.
