Providing Help in Ukraine
After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, Sartorius made a considerable donation to action medeor for immediate diaster relief. Together with its partner organizations, action medeor started a program to help stabilize the medical supply-line for hospitals in the country.
Providing immediate help is essential in this situation. With action medeor as our long-standing partner, we know that the aid reaches those in need.

With direct deliveries from action medeor’s headquarter in Tönisvorst, Germany, medical supplies and other urgently needed materials could immediately be used by hospitals and refugee shelters in western Ukraine and Moldova right after the war had started: from pulse oximeters used to measure oxygen concentration in blood, to portable ultrasound and x-ray devices.
Since the outbreak of the war, more than 900 tons of medical supplies have reached Ukraine. Even though, after two years of war, people try to live their lives as normally as possible, with constant fear of missiles and nights in the bunker, there are still an estimated 3.7 million internally displaced persons and 14.6 million people in need of help. Especially in the south of the country action medeor together with its partner organizations continues to support children, families and senior citizens in devasted areas with water, food, warm clothes, medical care and psychological help. This also includes a social pharmacy in Odessa as well as mobile pharmacies in more rural parts where the organization provides people with free medicines.
Additionally, action medeor and local partners also conduct activities aiming to give children a bit of light-heartedness even in times of the war, for example, with games and fun activities.
