2025 marks an important milestone for Sartorius in China: 30 years ago, the company established its first subsidiary in Beijing. Initial business relations date back much further, however.

The Roots: Activities in China Dating Back to 1910

Throughout its long history, Sartorius has maintained connections with China via exports, intermediary trading companies, international trade fairs, site visits, delegation trips, and cooperation talks.

In December 1995, Sartorius established its first subsidiary: Beijing Sartorius Balances Co. Ltd began as a joint venture focused on producing lab balances and initially employed fewer than 20 people.

The Present: Celebrating 30 Years in China in 2025

In December 2025, around 150 guests – including customers, partners and government representatives – joined more than 300 Sartorius employees in Beijing for Sartorius’ 30-year celebration. The ceremony featured keynotes from customer RongChang Group, Member of the Executive Board at Sartorius, Alexandra Gatzemeyer, Head of Sartorius China, Sarah Wang, Head of Operations, Yuguang Zhao, and representatives from the German Embassy in Beijing. The speakers highlighted three decades of trust, collaboration, and progress.
