For years, scientists have been using BHK-21 cell lines as a platform for virus and protein manufacturing. Traditionally they’ve been grown in serum-containing media – but serums can introduce lot-to-lot variation and off-target agents that affect performance.

In this application note, we assess the performance of 4Cell^® BHK-21 chemically defined medium during stepwise adaptation of a BHK-21 cell line from adherence to growth in suspension.
