Comparative Evaluation of Cell Cycle Profiling Assays on the iQue® Platform

The cell cycle is a continuous process in which a cell grows, duplicates its DNA, and divides to form two identical daughter cells. This process is tightly regulated by complex molecular mechanisms which depend on the health and condition of each individual cell.

When the cell cycle is disrupted, it can contribute to various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and inflammatory conditions. Changes in the cell cycle can reveal important details about both single cells and whole organisms. These changes can also advance medicine.

This application note provides results which support the use of the iQue® Platform as a flexible and scalable solution for cell-cycle profiling. DNA dye–based and genetically encoded reporter approaches provide complementary workflows for high-throughput cell-cycle analysis and compound profiling. Thus contributing to an understanding of compound-induced cell-cycle effects and supporting drug discovery workflows.

Key takeaways:

  1. Cell cycle assessment methods
  2. Comparison of data with key compounds
  3. Compound library plates
  4. A case study: cell cycle analysis for compound profiling
