On-Demand Webinar: Maximizing the Potential of 3D Organoid Research with Automated Isolation

Watch time: 18 minutes

Overview

3D organoids offer a significant advantage over traditional 2D cell cultures by mimicking the complexity and functionality of actual organs. This provides more accurate insights into disease progression and treatment responses. Unlike 2D cultures, organoids allow for intricate cell-to-cell interactions, which are crucial for many biological processes. This realistic in vivo environment leads to better estimates of drug efficacy and toxicity, reducing the risk of inaccurate predictions and costly errors in drug development.

However, the complexity of organoid systems presents unique challenges including technical complexity, imaging and analysis, standardization and reproducibility. Automated imaging systems can continuously monitor organoid growth, providing real-time data on changes in size, shape, and structure. This not only allows for precise tracking of organoid development but also enables early detection of any abnormalities. High throughput screening is made possible with automated isolation and transfer systems, increasing throughput and organoid viability.
