Speaker Biography
Paul Gilham, Innovations Director, Optimal Industrial Technologies
Paul joined Optimal in February 2005 and held that several different positions, such as Project & Software Engineer, Technical Sales Manager, and Innovations Manager. Paul holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Brons and has a strong background in Software Development and Industrial Automation. He has worked with PAT for over two decades and from hands-on integration and testing to Project Management, Sales, Product Architecture, and Design.
Jan Verelst, Global Business Development Digital Quality Management, Siemens
Jan is currently holding the position of Global Business Development Manager for Digital Quality Management solutions out of the Pharma headquarter division of Siemens. Jan has almost 3 decades of experience in the world of Industrial IT solutions such as Chromatography Data Systems (CDS), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Process Analytical Technology (PAT). He has a master’s degree in chemical engineering and did business with different multinational companies in various sectors in helping to find the right industrial IT solution for their needs. Today Jan focuses on the need for Digital Quality Management solutions in pharmaceutical processes – both batch and continuous processes for small and large drug substances as well as for formulated drug products. Besides the integration of PAT analyzer technologies into these processes, Digital Quality Management also encompasses the introduction and application of Digital Twin solutions involving PAT, mechanistic modeling, and simulation technologies.
Andrew Hines, Account Manager OEM, Sartorius
Andrew has over 12 years of experience working in the Life science and Biopharmaceutical industries. He joined Sartorius in 2016 as a BPS Account Manager in the Greater Los Angeles area and now works for the OEM & Embedded Solution team within Data Analytics. Prior to Sartorius, Andrew worked as a Research Associate, Process Engineer, and Data Engineer where he was involved in both site-wide and global projects ranging from R&D to Commercial Manufacturing. Andrew graduated with a degree in Bioinformatics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, which provided methodologies and problem-solving tools combining Molecular Biology, Computer Science, Probability Theory, and Statistics.
Johan Hultman, Manager OEM, and Embedded Solutions, Sartorius
Johan joined Sartorius Data Analytics (former Umetrics) already in 1999 and has held several important positions within the organization, Global Key Account Manager, Sales Manager & Business Development Manager during his 20+ years within the Advanced Data Analytics segment. With numerous Digital Transformation projects ongoing and successfully delivered, his combination of technical knowledge and solution selling skills – he is now leading and mentoring a Sartorius Team with responsibilities for OEM Applications and Embedded Solutions.
