Sartorius is expanding its presence in Germany with a new research and manufacturing site in the industrial area of Freiburg, a new center of excellence for the development and production of quality‑critical materials such as cytokines and growth factors for cell and gene therapies. This capacity expansion is an important milestone in Sartorius’ global development and manufacturing network. By securing and scaling the availability of critical raw materials , Sartorius helps customers reduce risk, accelerate development, and bring innovative therapies to patients faster.
- New production and laboratory building with approx. 18,000 m² gross floor area
- Pre-certified with a DGNB Gold Certification for its sustainable construction including geothermal energy, well water cooling, photovoltaics, and a green facade
- On-schedule completion following the laying of the foundation stone in 2023: Start of production planned for the end of 2026
