While COVID-19 has brought life to a standstill in a large part of France, employees of Sartorius Stedim Biotech in Aubagne are keeping production running to ensure that the company´s clients can continue to develop and produce medicines and vaccines. Among them are several international vaccine manufacturers who have a vaccine candidate against coronavirus in the development stage or already in clinical trials. “The current pandemic and the associated restrictions pose great challenges on our staff, both in their jobs and in their private lives. Given these circumstances, they are doing an outstanding job ensuring that our customers do not run out of the material they need to produce vaccines or also medicines for the treatment of cancer or autoimmune diseases,” said Joachim Kreuzburg, CEO of Sartorius Stedim Biotech.

The company manufactures consumables and equipment to produce biotech medicines and supplies its customers worldwide with sterile disposable containers, bioreactors, cell culture media and special filters, among other products. Sartorius Stedim Biotech employs over 6,200 people worldwide, more than 1,000 of them in Aubagne. “We would like to thank them for their extraordinary commitment,” said Kreuzburg.
