Featured Presentations
Tangential Flow Filtration and Affinity Chromatography
Presenter: Dr. John Cashman, Product Manager, Lab Filtration
Date: September 10, 2025 | 10:30AM ET
High biomolecule purity is essential for generating accurate and reproducible results. To this end, Sartorius supports complete purification workflows from cell culture to final product, with a range of innovative tools designed to enhance process efficiency.
In this seminar, John Cashman, Product Manager for Lab Filtration at Sartorius, will introduce the latest advancements in lab-scale tangential flow filtration (TFF) and affinity chromatography (AC). Through a review of key features, and application and life cycle assessment data, you will learn how these solutions can improve your purification workflows, through simplified and more flexible handling, fewer and faster process steps, and a reduced impact of your research on the environment. Whether you are working with antibodies, other proteins or even another molecule or particle type altogether, this session will demonstrate how Sartorius’ solutions can simplify your daily work.
Streamlining Pipette Calibration: Meeting ISO 8655 with Fewer Devices and Greater Flexibility
Presenter: Sascha Schwetschenau, Lab Team Lead
Date: September 11, 2025 | 10:00AM ET
Pipette calibration according to ISO 8655 poses several challenges — especially when using gravimetric methods across a wide volume range. Traditionally, multiple balances were required to ensure accuracy from as low as 2 µL to as high as 5,000 µL. This approach can result in increased complexity, limited mobility, and inefficient use of lab space.
Recent developments in balance technology now enable full ISO 8655-compliant calibration of single-channel pipettes with greater efficiency and flexibility — using only one gravimetric device. This advancement simplifies workflows, supports mobile calibration setups, and contributes to cost and space savings in both large labs and field service environments.
Key benefits of the new approach include:
Full ISO 8655 compliance across the complete pipette volume range
Simplified calibration processes with reduced equipment needs
Increased throughput of pipette calibrations per day
Better use of lab bench space and easier integration into mobile stations
Enhanced flexibility for service providers and quality control labs
This presentation explores the evolving calibration requirements and demonstrates how modern solutions can help laboratories and service teams meet stringent standards while improving efficiency.
