Sartorius shares additionally admitted to the MDAX
Göttingen, September 6, 2018 – Sartorius, a leading international partner for biopharmaceutical research and industry, will soon also be represented on the MDAX, the German mid-cap stock index. Effective September 24, Sartorius preference shares will be included both in the MDAX and, as listed so far, in the technology index TecDAX, as Deutsche Börse announced this past Wednesday evening. The MDAX of Deutsche Börse, the German stock exchange organization, tracks 60 companies that, based on their free float market capitalization and stock exchange turnover, rank just below the 30 largest DAX-listed companies.
“Now that Sartorius belongs to both indices, the MDAX and the TecDAX, the company will move even more into the focus of the financial community, especially at an international level. We are pleased that the new index composition and our shares’ performance over the past few years enable our positive business development and future opportunities to be showcased in a wider environment,” commented Joachim Kreuzburg, Executive Board Chairman and CEO of Sartorius.
In May 2018, Deutsche Börse had decided to change various rules for its indices and ended the previous sectoral index separation into classic and tech segments. As a result, technology companies can be admitted to the MDAX as well, and DAX and MDAX companies in the technology sector can be listed on the TecDAX.
