Reliable sample preparation solutions for CAR-T therapy discovery and development

CAR-T Cell Culture and Viral Vector Sample Preparation

Solutions for imaging and analysis of cell culture viability and development

Isolation of peripheral blood T cells to initiate CAR-T therapy production, as well as maintenance of cell cultures essential for performance of in vitro assays, requires a high level of trust in the results of assays you perform day in and day out.  These assays in turn depend on the safety, purity, and precision of sample preparation techniques.

At Sartorius, we strive to support sample preparation for CAR-T discovery and development by offering unique and thoughtful technologies and solutions for everyday use.  We enable efficient, robust sample preparation with no-wash reagents, provide innovative technology, and offer a comprehensive assay portfolio to allow performance of ligand binding assays, assessment of target specificity, immunological surveillance, and CAR-T persistence.

But on a more basic level, sample preparation starts with the often-overlooked foundational tools found in every laboratory.  One of these is the humble pipette.  Used daily, this precision instrument must always be trusted to be properly calibrated and fully functional.  The award-winning Picus® electronic pipette and the dependable manual Tacta® pipette minimize the risk of repetitive strain injury and give users the confidence that all volumes delivered meet expectations.

Viral Vector Sample Preparation

Proper sample preparation relies on accuracy, reproducibility, and good technique.  When developing a viral vector that is critical for delivery of genetic material needed to transform T cells, every aspect of that development must be thoroughly understood.  That understanding is gained through assays that begin with proper sample preparation, no less important in the discovery phase than it is in downstream projects.

Explore the solutions that Sartorius offers for viral vector sample preparation.

Virus Counter® Platform

CAR-T viral vector quantification has never been easier or faster. Measure total virus particles quickly and reproducibly to enable in vitro assays. ViroTag® no-wash assays for lentivirus, AAV, and other viruses minimize variability and enable confidence over traditional methods.

Pipetting with Picus® and Tacta®

Reliability of an assay depends strongly on the preparation phase. The programmable electronic pipette Picus reduces variability between users. Selecting a multichannel pipette will speed up your work and improve cell well-being by reducing the time outside the incubator. Both electronic Picus and manual Tacta pipettes guarantee the best pipetting ergonomics.

Cell Culture Sample Preparation

Preparing samples from cell cultures is a delicate process. The integrity of the sample must be maintained in order to have trust in your results: the sample must remain free from outside contaminants and must accurately represent the population from which it is taken.  This is as important whether you are preparing samples from the patient-derived cultures that will ultimately become CAR-T cells or from cultures used for in vitro assays to assess immune cell killing, phagocytosis, apoptosis, and all other effects of the therapy you ultimately wish to enable.
