Sartocon® Slice Holder filter holder is designed for low to medium volume applications from 200 ml to 100 L and optimized for the use with up to five Sartocon® Slice Crossflow cassettes (0.1 – 0.5 m²). The filterholder can be sterilized by autoclaving or inline steaming.

Sartocon® Slice Holder is available for a maximum five Sartocon® Slice cassettes (0.5m²) and closes the gap between the small scale Sartocon® Slice 200 holding device (0.02 - 0.04m²) and the Sartocon® 2 plus production scale holder (up to 7m²). The Sartocon® slice filter holder is part of applications of up to 100 L initial volume. This together with a minimum working volume makes it a universal tool for all crossflow applications in process development and small scale production. The upper tie rod can be removed for cassette installation. Changing of cassettes is easy because no gaskets have to be placed between the cassettes and the clamping plates. The crossflow holder is completely self draining due to the vertical orientation of the cassettes in the holding device. Thermal sterilisation in an autoclave or inline steaming even with cassettes installed is possible. For this purpose the installation of a pressure compensation tool is necessary. The hydrodynamic flow path of all Sartocon® cassettes and the materials used are identical in all crossflow cassettes . This uniform design within the Sartocon® family provides the user with predictable performance in scaling studies.

Hydrosart® membranes are extremely hydrophilic, making it non-protein binding and virtually non-fouling. Hydrosart® mikrofiltration cassettes are available in 0.2 µm and 0.45 µm.
Hydrosart® high performance membrane is a stabilized cellulose based membrane that has been optimized for biopharmaceutical process applications. Hydrosart® is stable across a broad pH range, is extremely hydrophilic, making it non-protein binding, and virtually non-fouling. Membrane cleaning, storage and depyrogenation can be accomplished by using NaOH even at elevated temperatures and concentrations. These features make Hydrosart® an ideal membrane for biological applications.
PESU cassettes are available in 0.1 µm pore size. Polyethersulfone membranes are designed for applications in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries. They can be used to remove the following cells from liquids:

- Clostridia
- Yeasts
- Salmonella
- Mycoplasma reduction
