Cubis® II Tutorial and Application Videos

Your Balance, Your Way

Learn how Cubis®️ II can support you in your daily workflow with features like an ionizer to eliminate electrostatic charges or electronic signature, audit trail and user management for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

With the Cubis® II balance users can digitally sign reports using the electronic signature function.

The electronic signature process complies with Directive 21CFR Part 11 and is conducted in the workflow by entering the user’s password to sign an automatically created report. The video shows how to activate and use the electronic signature.

The Cubis II balance monitors and displays the leveling in the status center. If the balance is not properly leveled, the spirit level in the status center is off-center and changes color to orange or red. Furthermore, in weighing tasks the leveling button blinks if the balance needs to be leveled. The isoCal function is a second safety mechanism and, if necessary, starts the internal adjustment procedure to ensure reliable weighing results.

The Status Center shows all information about a user’s balance and environmental conditions, e.g. calibration, leveling, temperature, humidity, air pressure, and service, centralized in a dashboard. In addition, messages, warnings, and errors with descriptive text providing detailed information are listed.

The Cubis® II Offers You the Opportunity to Select Between Different QApps or QApp Packages

With continuous software development, we support your workflows now and in the future. Choose among more than 50 different software applications or function extensions clustered in QApp packages by different topics like Essentials, Pharma, Advanced, Connectivity, Utilities, and Specials. All QApps are listed and described in the QApp Center of the Cubis® II.

The Cubis® II balance provides the extension user management function, which allows user accounts to be configured and freely definable roles with specific access rights to be assigned. A user account can be used either with or without a password, with a local password, or with a network password (single sign-on with LDAP).

User accounts, roles, and access management are configured in the Settings menu. Rules for logging in, logging out, and local password assignment can be configured in accordance to directive 21CFR Part 11. To learn more about settings, login, as well as roles and access management, take a look at our video.

With the Cubis® II it is possible to carry out complete measurement series. Results that are assumed to be invalid can be flagged as invalid, and a reason why the sample is set to invalid may be entered.

The invalidated weight value is printed strike-through and the reason for the invalidation is listed. In addition, the invalid value will be electronically saved. If you would like to know more about flagging values as invalid, take a look at our video.

With the Cubis® II balance users can define weighing tasks. Choose between different pre-installed applications and define the settings. User access to tasks, print and weighing profiles, and general settings can be configured in the task management function during task setup.

The task management function allows users to personalize your balance with the installation of tasks of interest and user role permissions to start selected tasks. You can find detailed information in our video.

Leveling will never be a problem again with the Cubis® II balance.

Not only does it have the auto-leveling feature, it also provides the user the relevant information when leveling is required. The leveling function is connected to the following safe weighing settings: Off, Warning, and Strict. In Warning mode, the user receives a message alert to level the balance; in strict mode, the weighing task may not begin until the balance is properly leveled.

Learn more about how to adjust these different options in the following video.

The Pipette Check application is used for the simple and reliable testing of piston stroke pipettes with fixed or variable volume type A or D1. In the application, the pipette and climate data can be recorded, as well as the used measuring instruments and pipette tips documented. Templates are available for 140 different Sartorius pipettes, of which the data is automatically adopted after selection. On base of the nominal volume specified for a pipette, the software automatically determines the permissible tolerances for the random and systematic error in accordance to DIN EN ISO 8655. For more detailed information, take a look at our video.

The user is guided through the complete external calibration process and obtains a comprehensive report if the balance calibration has passed or failed. In addition, the user will receive a warning message if the warning limit is reached or exceeded. If the action limit is reached or exceeded, the weight values become invalid and the user calibration procedure must be repeated. Learn more about the process in our video.

This application determines the density of solids using the buoyancy method. The sample is first weighed in air, then submerged in liquid. Based on the two weight values the application calculates the sample density. Take a look at our video to learn more.

The motion sensor recognizes four gestures and can be positioned near the balance, directly in the flow of motion at your work space. It allows the user to open and close the automatic draft shield, start the ionizer, or send a document to a device. This feature provides additional safety, especially when toxic substances are involved. If you’d like to know how you can program the motion sensor, see our video.

Get rid of drifting weight values caused by electrostatic effects with the built-in ionizing technology of the Cubis® II balance. The ionizer can be started with the simple press of a button or automatically when the draft shield door closes. The glass panels of all Cubis® II draft shields are coated with a conductive layer, preventing external transfer of electrostatic charges generated by the environment, ensuring reliable and stable weighing results.

The flexible formulation application is used to weigh in recipes. The user defines the number of components to be weighed in and starts the process. The application documents the name and weight of each component and calculates the sum of the total weight.

It is possible to control the balance via a web browser. With remote access users can, for example, begin the leveling process directly on a laptop or search and sort Audit trail entries.

Air pollution monitoring is a very important topic to protect human health. Many standards regulate the emission of fuel powered vehicles like automotives (cars, trucks, motorcycles), boats, etc. or industrial sources of air pollution. In particular, ultra-fine particles such as soot particles can accumulate in the lung are classified as carcinogenic, but also asthma, allergies, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases are caused by fine dust. Filter weighing is a back-weighing method to determine the level of air pollution.

Cubis® II ultra high-resolution balances offer superior weighing performance at highest resolution. They are especially designed to meet compliance requirements and to weigh in small sample amounts in large tare vessels. With licensable hardware components the Cubis II ultra high-resolution balances are a future-proven investment.

At Cubis ®II ultra high-resolution balances the software application cleaning provides two different workflows for daily cleaning and deep cleaning. The cleaning task guides the user by clear instructions and graphical animations through the complete cleaning process and the automated self-test checks if the balance is correctly reassembled and ready to use.
