Process Improver Specialist

The Process Improver Specialist will have direct responsibility of tasks and activities necessary to examine, diagnose and correct operational problems related to manufacturing process as part of the sustaining engineering department.  Is responsible to assist and / or execute tasks related to the completion of preventive/corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate the problems root causes that impact Safety/ Quality / Delivery / Cost requirements.

The Process Improver Specialist will have direct responsibility of tasks and activities necessary to examine, diagnose and correct operational problems related to manufacturing process as part of the sustaining engineering department.  Is responsible to assist and / or execute tasks related to the completion of preventive/corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate the problems root causes that impact Safety/ Quality / Delivery / Cost requirements.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Active participation in Gemba Walks / Tiers Meetings, NCRs / CAPA / Complaints Investigations, Line Balancing & Workstations Layout, Std. Work Creation & Revisions.
  • Use root cause tools like: fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.
  • Identify cross-functional team members to support in the improvement process.
  • Obtain the appropriate data.
  • Keep track of daily process-related problems.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements for the process/equipment.
  • Evaluate processes and maintain operations at a highest OEE in the assigned area.
  • Support on special projects as assigned
  • Able to work with multiple improvement tasks at the same time and work under minimum supervision.
  • Develop written reports using technical writing skills.
  • Create / Revise process documentation and operating instructions (SOPs / WIs).
  • Ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned projects.
  • Communicate status of issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure tasks and activities performed comply with applicable cGDP/cGMP regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in internal and external audits (e.g. Clients, Regulatory), as required.
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Support on special projects as assigned.
  • To constantly strive to instill a sense of professionalism and pride in the organization personnel by ongoing daily communication & leadership by example.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in Problem solving techniques.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Minitab, MS Project, Auto Cad).
  • Good written and oral communication in English and Spanish languages
  • Customer service oriented: Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to provide adequate service to internal and external customers. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality, standard of ethics and integrity.
  • Analytical and problem solving: must be able to identify solutions to problems within scope of responsibility and implement corrective action.
  • Able to effectively work, communicate (written and oral) and collaborate with peers and other business areas.
  • Computer knowledge of various applications- to include Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook), MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, Auto Cad, Minitab Statistical software.
  • Change Management: must be able to develop workable implementation plans and communicate changes effectively.
  • Effective Prioritization, Planning and Time Management: Must be able to organize and plan workload on several projects concurrently to meet deadlines.
  • Cost consciousness: ability to work within approved budget while developing and implementing cost saving measures.
  • Willing to work extended hours when required to accommodate changing job demands.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Business Administration or other Technical Area.
  • 1+ years in a GMP regulated manufacturing (preferred)
