Manager (m|f|d) of Main Category Plastics

We are currently seeking a Manager (m|f|d) of Main Category Plastics for our Procurement, Supply Network and Logistics business based at our headquarter in Goettingen, Germany (Sartorius Stedim Biotech). In this position, you are responsible for preparing and implementing the global strategy for selected categories based on business needs (upon input from Procurement Engineers|Business Partners), thorough market analyses (including KRALJIC, PESTLE, SWOT analysis) and supply chain cost modeling. You will prepare, lead and roll out complex RFx, negotiate and implement contracts, effectively manage the full contracts and suppliers lifecycle. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR CV IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE

What you will accomplish together with us

  • Your Main responsibility is the strategic development of the Plastics main category in close alignment with our business expansion goals

  • Also you will identify, evaluate and develop our supplier and partner network on a global level with increasing focus on Asia and Americas

  • You will establish trustworthy solid business relationship with senior management in large reputable companies

  • Together several internal stakeholders you will pro-actively manage  the existing suppliers, including phase out and phase in of suppliers with respect to future requirements

  • You will also act as Supplier Account Manager and therefore be the single point of contact internally and externally for issue resolutions, supplier development, KPIs, relationship management

  • This includes the coordination and lead of Business Performance Reviews across any category of spend and any geography

  • Act as first point of contact for internal stakeholders belonging to different areas such as Procurement Engineering|Business Partners, Legal, Quality, Finance, across multiple countries ensuring efficient communication and timely results delivery

  • This role includes the Management of  two direct reports, with global responsibility, based abroad

What will convince us

  • Successfully completed university degree in the field of mechanical engineering or business administration

  • Significant, long term professional experience in Category Management Contracting & Procurement on a global level in particular in the field of Injection molded & Machined plastic parts (fundamental) and preferably in extrusion plastics (e.g. tubes and films) and/or assemblies of plastics (e.g. connections and filters)

  • Previous thorough hands on experience in Make or Buy

  • Solid track record in expanding available market capacity during significant company  growth in a short  market will be an asset

  • You have the  ability to work and deliver timely in a complex and global environment with tight deadlines and conflicting priorities

  • Furthermore you can show solid track record in delivering substantial sustainable value, beyond mere savings, through cost and process optimization, collaboration, innovation and new ways of working

  • Additionally you have experience and understanding of working within quality management systems ISO 9000 and Lean Six Sigma

  • A leadership personality with strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills, addet by strategic, holistic, proactive, forward-looking global mind-set round of your profile

  • Fluent English language knowledges is mandatory, German and French are a  plus Willingness for business travel (approx. 20%)
