Internships

Are you studying engineering, natural sciences, business or information systems management and looking for an internship that gives you the chance to test your theoretical knowledge in practice?

At Sartorius, we will include you fully in our ongoing projects and our daily operations from day one.

Working Student Positions

Would you like to gain work experience, build an international network and pursue your studies at the same time? Then one our working student positions will be the perfect opportunity for you.

Typically you will work 10 to 20 hours a week, which gives you the chance to work with our teams while continuing your academic studies.


Bachelor’s or Master’s Thesis

Link your thesis to a current project or our daily business at Sartorius. While working and writing your thesis, you will be supported by our respective business area.

FAQ | Internships and Working Student Jobs

We particularly look for interns and student trainees in the engineering field and in the natural sciences (e.g., mechanical engineering, process engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, physics), but also business administration or computer science. However, you can also apply in other fields, such as human resources and marketing. Check out our latest job vacancies using the job search function.

Germany:  We currently pay around 800 euros per month for mandatory internships, study-related internships and orientation internships lasting 2 months or longer. In justified individual cases, we will also support you in finding accommodation and, if necessary, with a monthly rent subsidy. Internships that fall under the Minimum Wage Act are of course remunerated in accordance with the legal requirements.

Working students at our location in Göttingen are paid according to the collective agreement of the Lower Saxony metal industry according to pay group E2-A.

United States: Internships in the US are paid.

The length of your employment with Sartorius can last several semesters.

Germany: In principle, students must be enrolled in a university to fill a working student position.

United States: We do not have working students in the US.

The first interview usually takes place with the respective department you have applied for. This will give you the opportunity to gain insight into the prospective workplace and potential future colleagues. FAQ | Bachelor’s or Master’s Thesis

We particularly look for students in the engineering field and in natural sciences, although if you are studying in a different field, you still may want to take a look at available opportunities. 

Please note: We do not offer the opportunity to write a thesis in all regions.  You can find all thesis offerings online in our Job Search. 

An internship is not a prerequisite but is advisable as it will give you a head start in becoming familiar with our workflows and getting to know your co-workers. 

No, the deadline by which you will need to complete your thesis primarily depends on the requirements of the university or school you are attending.

You will be paid the same as our interns.

Germany: If you are working on your thesis for two months or more at Sartorius, you will currently receive 800 euros a month.

After we have short-listed candidates based on their written applications, the first interview usually takes place with the respective department and a recruiter.
